PASSPORT & VISA REQUIREMENTS

  • Passport Validity: Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your planned departure date from Georgia. It is essential to check your passport's expiration date well in advance of your trip and renew it if necessary. Many countries require a minimum of six months' validity on your passport to allow entry.

  • Visa Requirements:

    • Visa-Free Entry: Georgia has a liberal visa policy, allowing citizens of many countries to enter and stay for tourism or business purposes without a visa for up to 365 days. These countries typically include most EU member states, the United States, Canada, Australia, and many others. However, the list of visa-exempt countries can change, so it's essential to verify your eligibility for visa-free entry based on your nationality.

    • Visa on Arrival: Some countries that do not have visa-free access may still obtain a visa upon arrival at Georgia's international airports. The conditions for visa on arrival, such as duration and eligibility, can vary by nationality, so check the latest information from the Georgian government or your nearest Georgian embassy or consulate.

    • E-Visa: Georgia also offers an e-visa option, which allows travelers from certain countries to apply for a visa online before their trip. This e-visa is typically valid for stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period. Ensure you apply for the appropriate type of e-visa (tourism, business, or other) based on your purpose of visit and the latest regulations.

  • Visa Extensions: If you wish to stay in Georgia beyond the allowed visa-free period, you may apply for an extension at the Public Service Hall or a local police office in Georgia. Extension approval is not guaranteed and depends on your individual circumstances.

  • Overstaying: Be mindful of the visa regulations and departure dates. Overstaying your visa can result in fines, deportation, or other penalties.

  • Documentation: Carry printed or digital copies of your passport, visa, and any supporting documents (such as hotel reservations) with you at all times during your stay in Georgia.
